I have added a page (Drama groups) to my website as a resource for all emerging drama groups to share. I plan to feature groups (just a few short paragraphs and a photo or two) for others to see how it’s done.

Drama group in ‘The Standard’

Marylin was contacted by the Aged Care Standards & Accreditation Agency, which wished to put an article on the Waminda Drama Group in its December issue of ‘The Standard’. The article will also will also mention Drama for Seniors & Special Needs Groups as a drama resource.

Futureage Care are also intending to promote the books as a resource on their most creative website and via their Twitter.

New drama groups emerging

The workshop in Kalgoorlie was a success, leading to the formation of new drama group and the same daycare centre also including a puppet making workshop for the men as part of their drama programme.

There is now news coming in of drama groups starting around the country!

Waminda Drama Group has started work on its Christmas production with great enthusiasm.

The Waminda Drama Group’s latest production was on 30th September. It was highly successful.

Marylin has also presented at two workshops - one in Perth on 22nd August and the other in Kalgoorlie on 26th September.

The Waminda Care Centre, the low care aged care facility at Bentley Park, a SwanCare Group Community in Perth, Western Australia (home of the Waminda Drama Group) will be presenting the drama programme at the Perth Better Practice Seminar on 15th October 2009.

‘Drama for Seniors’ was recently reviewed by the DTAWA Inc. This can be seen in their June publication.

B&S Books are currently promoting ‘Drama for Seniors & Special Needs Groups’ as their Book of the month. Box’n'Dice and Wisdom Activities are also promoting the book.

A book review of Drama for Seniors & Special Needs Groups can be seen in the latest copy of the Diversional Therapy Association of W.A. newsletter. Marylin will be holding a workshop ‘Achievable Drama’ on 22nd August.
